That’s what the Captain I sailed across the Atlantic with called it: “My recommendation voice.” I felt so intimidated by him, that anytime I wanted to make a suggestion (and a good one mind you!) I would say it in a high-pitched mousy whisper. No more! Yannick, and the Atlantic Ocean, and the USCG Captain’s course taught me a great deal about how women are equally (nay, often far more!) capable than men if only we take the steps to learn things our way, acknowledge when we have questions and deserve answers, and use our Confident Voices instead.
